Visual Communication Aids Assist Students Transition to Community Life

Leaving the familiarity of school and transitioning to community living is a big step for older students with autism, Down Syndrome, cerebral palsy, brain injury and other developmental disabilities. Transition age students with speech, communication and intellectual disabilities will likely need some visual  supports to help them gain the skills they need to live as independently as possible, work, volunteer and enjoy new recreational activities.
