Description

Our Big Picture Caregiving Communication Book gives Nonspeaking Adults a Voice in their Personal Care.

Our Big Picture Caregiving Communication book takes the guesswork out of trying to understand the physical and emotional care needs of someone who temporary or long term speech loss and unable to speak. Picture communication boards help adults with speech and cognitive challenges discuss their needs and feelings with caregivers, family, nursing and home care professionals. Ideal for adults who need help with personal care due to stroke, brain injury, ALS, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome and IDD.

This unique communication book focuses on the essential aspects for improving care. Larger pages and larger pictures make it easier for adults with visual and fine motor challenges to make choices and direct their care. Users simply point to the pictures using a finger or stylus to indicate a choice.

Our Big Picture Caregiving Communication book was designed to help nonspeaking adults who require assistance with personal and medical care. The book covers 4 categories, divided by tabs, so the topical pages are easy to find. Each topical page/communication board includes 12 - 2" adult-appropriate picture choice along with words. Additional  core vocabulary words are included to expand the user's meaning. The back side of each page features a blank template so you customize the board with personal favorite pictures or words. The book is spiral bound so it opens flat to the page you want to use at the bedside or bathroom.

Our communication book is ready to use including 350+ picture symbols on 30 topical communication choice boards related to caregiving including personal care, socializing, basic needs and more. Topical boards cover commenting, feelings, questions, weather, visitors, places to go, activities, music, sports, personal care, assistive tech, bathing, body parts, medications, grooming, meal time needs, hot and cold drinks, breakfast and lunch foods. An instructional guide on how to introduce and use our picture communication book with adults is included on the inside covers.

Review via Etsy:

"I’ve ordered a few items from Say it with Pictures for friends who have had strokes or are deaf and need to communicate with hearing caregivers. The spiral bound book is the best yet. The clarity of the pictures and labels is great. The thoroughness and choice of pictures and contexts is a good fit for what someone would need following loss of speech." - Laurie P.

Very useful. Mom had a stroke and it is helping her to identify items, emotions, and needs. The caregiver speaks another language. The book also helps them to communicate.
